10 Uses for Thieves Essential Oil Blend

Looking for ways to clean your home and support a healthy immune system, naturally?! Today, I’m spotlighting Thieves essential oil blend and how you can use it to keep your family healthy this season. It has many, many uses for wellness and nontoxic cleaning, and it pretty much smells like Christmas in a bottle!

Thieves Essential Oil BlendThieves is a special, proprietary blend that contains Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary, but do you know how it got its name? Legend has it that 15th-century French authorities offered leniency to a group of thieves in exchange for their secret aromatic mixture. Their blend of powerful botanicals was believed to protect them while they pillaged communities. Pretty cool, huh?

1. Purify the air

Diffuse for 20-30 minutes to purify the air (bonus, it smells like Christmas!)

2. Naturally clean at home or on the go

Add a few drops of Thieves and a tiny pinch of salt to a mini spray bottle and fill with water (1-2 drops per ml). Keep the spray bottle in your purse or luggage. Clean your hands, hotel beds, public toilet seats, restaurant tables, and much more. You can make a bigger batch and use it for yoga mats, gym equipment, toys… anything!

3. Make a natural hand soap

Make a homemade purifying, foaming hand soap and ditch all the junky chemicals that are in store bought. Re-use a foaming hand soap container and use this recipe. So easy and it takes less than a minute to make!

4. Support a healthy immune system

Add a few drops of Thieves with a carrier oil and rub on feet. If you want to always have some pre-diluted and ready to go, you can make a roll-on (recipe here). Or put a few drops of Thieves Vitality with a bit of coconut oil in a capsule and take with water to help maintain wellness.

5. Use as an air freshener

If you don’t have a diffuser, just add 3-4 drops of Thieves to a small spray bottle and fill with water. Spray rooms, closets, shoe bins, backpacks, and other spaces with odor problems.

6. Make your own toothpaste

Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with a few drops of water to make a paste. Add 1-2 drops of Thieves Vitality to the paste and brush teeth as usual.

7. Make a fresh breath spray

Add 2-3 drops of Thieves Vitality and 1-2 drop of Peppermint Vitality to a 3ml spray bottle. You only need 1 drop essential oil per ml, total… just depends on the blend you want! Fill with distilled water and shake well before spraying into your mouth.

8. Clean the dishwasher

Add a few drops of Thieves to the detergent container in your dishwasher and run a normal cycle (with or without a full load of dishes).

9. Clean floors

Add a few drops of Thieves to a sink half full of warm water and use to purify and clean floors. I have wood and tile floors and this Thieves solution works great! Just be sure to wring out the mop/pad well before using on wood floors, and not let any water pool.

10. Steam clean carpets

Add a few drops of Thieves to a carpet steamer with water to purify and freshen carpets. This makes the whole house will smell great!
